How We Teach

Cybercamps Academy has a teaching philosophy that has guided our program since its start more than a decade ago – human brains learn more when they’re having fun.™ While it's not hard to find a computer camp or summer technology program that imitates our core belief in their own program, it is hard to find a summer camp that matches our teaching credentials and expertise in youth technology education.

Cybercamps Academy teaching staff are parents, educators, technology experts – adults who will provide a safe and nurturing environment that will help your child have a great summer. They are cool people that youth feel comfortable around, and they are passionate about helping kids experience technology in a safe and productive way.

Participants in our summer computer and technology program spend about one third of their day working on individual computer projects and courses. The remainder of the time is spent playing outdoor activities and games, or playing games (both computer and board) with new friends.

Research-Proven Teaching Methods

Cybercamps Academy is the only summer computer program that uses research-proven teaching methods and curriculum. That’s right, we’re the only ones – and this is one of the Cybercamps Academy advantages that other summer computer camps haven’t been able to copy. An independent research study involving the Cybercamps Academy' courseware and methodology, conducted by Dr. Michelle O’Brien Palmer, found that compared to other teaching models and curriculum approaches, Cybercamps Academy' courses significantly increase higher-order thinking skills in kids.

Personalized Teaching

On average, Cybercamps Academy has the lowest teacher-to-student ratio of any national computer camp or summer technology program. We believe that the personal interaction with our staff, combined with our project-based and Web-based courseware, is the most powerful combination of tools and interaction for learning. Compare this approach to most public school classrooms where there is one teacher for every 30 kids! At Cybercamps Academy , each participant learns about subjects that most interest them, at their pace, on their own computer. It doesn’t get more personalized than that!

Project-Based Learning

Only Cybercamps Academy offers the combination of project-based learning through a proprietary blend of Web-based courses and personalized instruction. This is the same blend that is proven by research to increase higher-order thinking skills in youth! Also, Web-based courses allow each participant the chance to keep learning after Cybercamps Academy is finished. In fact, Cybercamps Academy participants have access to our fun courses and servers for an entire year! You won’t find this at other computer camps.

Week-long Courses – Multi-week Tracks

At Cybercamps Academy, we've found that kids are more energized when they work on projects that interest and challenge them. That's why we offer week-long courses filled with compelling projects – each with a different degree of difficulty or time needed to complete. Many times participants will want to work on larger individual projects that require learning skills in multiple areas. Our recommended tracks are a great way to customize the Cybercamps Academy experience.

200 Years – One Million Hours

Using our proprietary learning management system, our courses are developed by professional educators and technology experts who have more than one million hours of in-person instruction and more than 200 years of combined experience in the design and delivery of technology training. Stack those numbers up against any computer camp and it's easy to see why the Cybercamps Academy program outperforms all others.

Cybercamps is the coolest summer computer and technology camp for youth and teens. The Cybercamps summer computer camps are held at dozens of locations throughout the USA.
